Original Canadian Music vs Clone Bands
OK… so you’ve got two days to live. You love music. You have a choice between going to a clone concert of your favourite old group or seeing an original Canadian band you have never heard. What do you choose? The clone of course, after all you are dying and want to hear your lifetime favourite music. Right?
But what if you are not dying?
My point is you need to consider the power of your dollar before you pay to see a clone band over paying to see Live Original Canadian Music. Don’t forget the original bands that you have always loved were once starting out… and without the support and pride of their communities shown to those bands… you would have NEVER heard of them or their music.
Nothing wrong with clones and nostalgia. Musicians have to work. But clones do not generate NEW ORIGINAL CANADIAN MUSIC.
Spotify is sucking money AWAY from original artists.Your money is going to Swedish billionaires who do not generate New Original Music. If you wish to support New Original Music then unsubscribe from Spotify, take the $120 that you save and buy show tickets for original Canadian bands and buy their recordings. SUPPORT them!
Original bands must be supported by you. If you do not… what happens. Nothing of course… except the slow blood choke of future original exciting Canadian music for you and future generations.
To Canadian music lovers and supporters and to all those who get what I am saying…as a lifelong composer with a new album in the works I thank you from my heart. I live to make you feel and think through the miracle of music as does every artist and musician.
